Three-day Timber Construction Workshop

The workshop includes discussions, practical training in carpentry workshop, and application in Hatzini Square under the guidance of construction professionals.

As part of the effort to embed circularity in construction, the existing wooden fence will be reconstructed and optimized, and a new wooden seating area will be implemented to serve as a good-practice guide for similar interventions in public spaces of historic settlements.

The central focus of the activity is the contribution of Open Structures and Architectural Technology to sustainability and architectural heritage. Openness is defined by access to knowledge and technologies, transparency in actions, permeability in organizational structures and agencies, inclusivity, and participation. Based on these principles, professionals, students, and village volunteers will take part in a joint effort of learning and contribution.

The workshop is aimed at residents of the village and wider area, students and professionals in architecture, cultural management, archaeology, anthropology, and generally researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts interested in timber construction.
