Program Description
The Postgraduate Studies Program "Reuse of Buildings and Complexes" has been operating since 2018 and is organized by the Department of Architecture of the School of Engineering of the University of Thessaly.
The proposed postgraduate program aims at the comprehensive interdisciplinary management of architectural reuse, alongside structural and energy upgrading, by introducing a structured educational, research, and methodological approach.
This scientific field constitutes a highly relevant and contemporary subject for researchers and practitioners alike, presenting a design, composition, and construction challenge across all engineering disciplines involved in technical projects.
The MSc program provides advanced knowledge and practical skills regarding the adaptive reuse of existing building shells, architectural complexes, and urban sites, their structural and energy optimization, and the integration of digital technologies throughout the entire lifecycle of adaptive reuse.
