From July 19 to 27, 2025, the 2nd International Workshop on the Heritage of Abruzzos, dedicated to Castel di Sangro and Scontrone, served as an advanced forum for discussing the subtle relationships between architectural composition, building technologies, and modern digital tools for deeper understanding of heritage.

The second edition of the initiative was hosted at the Museo Civico Aufidenate (former Santa Maria Maddalena monastery in Castel di Sangro) and formed an integral part of the broader research program on Sustainable Heritage Strategies, aiming to test the effectiveness of integrated models of analysis, representation, and design.

The interdisciplinarity of the endeavor was not designed as a merely additive strategy, but as a means to create a shared functional environment. In this context, it became possible to critically verify the interdependencies between heritage interpretation, digital representation, and contemporary sustainable design strategies.
